UK Delivery
Standard delivery within the UK is free on all orders. We use Royal Mail and Evri for most of our parcels, but may use other couriers during busy times, or for larger parcels.
Orders are shipped within 1-2 days (excluding weekends). We will send you a confirmation e-mail once your order is on its way. (Please check your junk/spam folder)
To enable us to provide you with the best possible delivery experience, we may pass on your contact details to our carrier partners. These details may allow them to provide you with delivery updates via SMS and/or email.
All of our structured hats are sent in boxes, other crushable hats and caps are sent in mail bags.
We use Royal Mail Second Class Post and Evri Standard Service for our free standard delivery. These services typically take 3-5 working days from being shipped, but it may take longer during busy periods. If you have not received your parcel within 10 days of placing your order please email us at info@thehatcompany.com and we will investigate this for you.
Please note parcels are shipped Monday to Friday only, excluding Public Holidays. Orders placed on Friday afternoon, Saturday or Sunday will be shipped on Monday. Orders placed on a Bank Holiday will be shipped the following working day.
Faster Shipping
For faster shipping we offer Royal Mail First Class Tracked Delivery, prices range from £3.99-£4.99 depending on the size and weight of your parcel. On average this service is taking 1-2 working days.
If ordered before 3pm we will ship your parcel the same day, orders placed after 3pm and on weekends and Bank Holidays will be shipped the following working day.
International Delivery
We ship worldwide, so everyone can enjoy our beautiful products! Unfortunately, we cannot speed up the international shipping or the transit time/customs clearance process, so sometimes shipping times may extend a bit, this is out of our hands.
All orders are shipped within 1-2 business days of purchase. We typically use Royal Mail for our parcels, but may use other couriers during busy times or if your parcel is for multiple items.
All International orders will be given a tracking number to see the updates of your delivery status, but please allow up to 30 working days from placing your order for your item(s) to arrive.
On the rare occasion where parcels do not arrive within 30 days - please contact us and we will submit a claim with the courier. Please note refunds cannot be issued until a claim has been submitted and investigated by the carrier.
IMPORTANT: VAT & CUSTOMSNew rules to receiving goods from outside your own country are now in force, starting January 2021.
Goods sent outside of the UK are subject to additional import costs. These costs consist of Customs duties, import VAT and courier ‘handling fees’. The amount of these fees depend on the value of the parcel, the products ordered and the delivery destination.
Import VAT: Countries which usually charge VAT on goods will have to pay the standard VAT rate on the total value of your order, including shipping. Please note the previous lower value relief was removed in July 2021.
Custom Duties: Duties vary depending on the country of destination. We strongly recommend you contact your Customs and Duties office directly prior to purchase to confirm these costs. Valuation is done by customs. On average most of our goods carry a 2-8% duty charge. This may be higher for some products.
Deliveries made within the EU from the UK are not subject to customs duty when the total value of the goods is lower than £135 (approx. €150) - but this threshold is for customs duty only - VAT will still be applicable.

Handling Fees are set by the Courier - unless stated at the checkout we use Royal Mail for International Deliveries. Royal Mail will handle your parcel in the UK and pass it to your national postal carrier. Please check their website for more information on fees.
As we sell a wide variety of products, use different carriers and sell to countries all over the world, we cannot advise on these costs. We strongly recommend you contact your Customs and Duties office directly prior to purchase. If you would prefer us to send your parcel via a specific courier, please contact us prior to purchase.
All the above charges are payable upon importation, the courier will contact you to let you know how much you need to pay, and the available payment methods. Once payment has been received, you’ll be able to request delivery of your package or pick it up from your local delivery office or depot.
Customers in the EU may want to consider purchasing through our ebay store - as ebay will collect the VAT at the checkout and handle this for you, rather than charging upon delivery.
