General Terms and Conditions
To place orders or use some of the features within TheHatCompany.com you will need to register. When you register you are required to provide information about yourself that is accurate in all respects. If any of your registration information change, please notify us immediately at the following e-mail address firstname.lastname@example.org. We may also change registration requirements from time to time.
The account password you provide should be unique and kept secure, and you must notify The Hat Company immediately of any breach of security or unauthorised use of your account. We will keep your password safe and will only allow password resets once our security requirements have been met.
If you sign up to our newsletter you will receive information on new arrivals and promotions. You may request to stop receiving our updates at any time, simply select the unsubscribe option from any page within the website or contact us at info@thehatcompanycom.
Prices shown on the Site are in GBP are inclusive of VAT at the applicable rate. All transactions will be charged in GBP. If you are a customer whose credit/debit card is not denominated in Sterling the final price will be calculated in accordance with the applicable exchange rate on the day your card issuer processes the transaction. The GBP price of a product displayed on the Site at the time the order is accepted will be honoured, except in cases of patent error. The price of an item may change at any time during the selling period due to promotions or markdowns.
If you select a shipping destination, where VAT is not applicable then VAT will be removed at checkout.
In order to make purchases at TheHatCompany.com you will be required to provide your correct personal details. This will include but is not limited to: your name, phone number, e-mail address. You will be required to provide valid and correct payment details and you confirm that you are the person referred to in the Billing information provided.
When your order has been placed, you will receive an email acknowledging the details of your order. Acceptance of your order will be confirmed once the order has been dispatched. This will complete the contract between you and The Hat Company, unless in the meantime you have emailed email@example.com to cancel the order.
All orders are subject to availability items in your shopping basket or wish list are not reserved and may be purchased by other customers. We reserve the right not to accept your order in the event, for example, that we are unable to obtain authorisation for payment, that shipping restrictions apply to a particular item, or that the item ordered is out of stock.
Cancelling your Order under the Distance Selling Regulation
You have the right to cancel your order with us provided you give us written notice any time from order placement up to 30 days from the day after you received you order. Please note you are responsible for the cost of returning the item. All goods will be inspected once received. The goods are your responsibility until they reach us, so make sure it’s packed up properly and can’t get damaged on the way. Refunds will be issued within 5 working days of us receiving your returned item(s). In the event of a dispute regarding receipt of the cancelled order by us we may request proof of the postage back to us.
At The Hat Company we accept payment through PayPal (you do not need a PayPal account to do this) PayPal accepts all major credit and debit cards. The Hat Company trades worldwide and you can pay with various currencies. If your chosen payment method is successful, payment will be taken immediately and you will receive confirmation of your order and payment via email. If your chosen method of payment is unsuccessful, you will not be charged and we will notify you of the unauthorised payment via e-mail. Please note that even if a payment is not authorised some card issuers may choose to make the amount appear unavailable for a short period of time.
The Hat Company offers Gift Vouchers online. Gift Vouchers purchased online are sent electronically on the date you specify to the email address given and can only be used online. Gift Vouchers are not redeemable for cash and have no cash value; they may be used as part or full payment.
Gift Voucher will be charged on the date of purchase and are valid for 12 months from issue. The value of the Gift Voucher is your choice in the following denominations of £10, £25, £50 or multiples thereof. The Gift Voucher will be allocated a code which will be redeemed at the final stage of the checkout. Confirmation of the Gift Voucher will only be sent to the purchaser once the order is confirmed by us. Gift Vouchers can only be cancelled by the purchaser within 1 hour of purchase and will not be valid until confirmation email received. Unwanted Gift Vouchers cannot be returned and voucher codes cannot be used to purchase another Gift Voucher If the recipient does not already have an online account with our site, the recipient will have to create an account using the email address the voucher was delivered to, this can be done during the checkout process. The funds will then automatically appear and the option given to redeem the funds against the cost of purchases in the basket. If the items purchased total less than the gift voucher amount the remaining funds will stay within in the allocated code to use on the next purchase, if the items purchased exceed the gift voucher amount the remaining value must be paid by card in order to complete the order. Items bought using gift vouchers can be returned or exchanged but not refunded, only additional monies paid over and above the gift voucher will be refunded and a new gift voucher code will be issued.
